Architectural Salvage
Various components of buildings are available for the restoration trade, do-it-yourselfers or anyone who has an appreciation for built heritage or architectural antiques. If we do not have it in our showroom we may have it in our salvage barn or still in situ awaiting dismantling.
Whether you are renovating/restoring your home or looking for supplies for repurposing/upcycling projects we’ve got lots of ideas and supplies in our store and even more in our barn!
Much of the vintage building materials collected by Onslow Historic Lumber Co. are salvaged from derelict buildings of early to late nineteenth century Nova Scotia. Please note that where possible we advocate saving historic buildings rather than demolishing or deconstructing them.
Please contact us if you feel you have a property that should be dismantled and may still yield some reusable materials. We would be happy to discuss options with you.
Here’s a list of just some of the items we carry.
Windows (including stained glass) • Doors and door hardware (hinges, knobs, mortises…) • tin ceiling tile • fireplace mantels and other accents • barn board • wood flooring • historic lumber • tubs, sinks • lighting accessories • glass blocks • red brick • moulding and trim • metal hooks • balusters • stair rails • newel posts • veranda posts • corbels • and more.
